Dynamo North East is a volunteer lead organisation working to grow the Tech industry in the area covered by the North East and Tees Valley Combined Authority LEPs. It delivers this through collaboration, innovation, skills and advocacy.  This work leads us to engage with representatives of all political persuasions and lobby on behalf of the region. It is our aspiration that Dynamo reflects the diverse nature of the local tech industry across the public, private and third sectors.
To avoid any perception of conflicts of interest, Charlie Hoult will temporarily step down as chair of Dynamo if he is selected as a candidate for North of Tyne Combined Authority Mayor and if elected, during the tenure as Mayor.
In the interim Giselle Stewart, Dynamo North East Vice Chair will act as Chair.

Building the North East’s enterprise IT cluster to achieve national and international recognition for excellence in delivering IT software and services. Dynamo is an industry-led initiative focusing on growing the tech sector in the North East. We have four streams of activity.

We believe the North East is a hotspot for tech firms in the UK. The region is home to several national and international players including Sage Software’s headquarters, as well as support offices for the UK Government’s DWP, HMRC and a range of local firms.

Dynamo is made up of IT organisations and employers, technology hubs, education, local government and employer support initiatives. To keep up to date with our work, please register for updates.

We have 150 members, representing the 40,000+ people who work in IT in the region and helping to fill the 3,000+ vacancies from sector growth.
