HTG – Member Spotlight

Give us a brief overview of your organisation

With 25 years of industry experience, we are thought-leaders, business advisors and dedicated to providing people-first, innovative and emerging technology solutions as one of the leading IT outsourcing consultancies in the UK.

We service a diverse client base spanning both the private and public sectors and work in close partnership with Microsoft. We are immensely proud that we are the first company, globally, to achieve Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Advanced Specialist Partner status.

Our highly skilled team has both the expertise and passion to deliver a pioneering standard of technical solutions and customer experience. We are proud of the reputation we have built to be a trusted IT partner, delivering successful cloud transformations for clients across the world.

What are the benefits of basing your business in the North-East?

HTG is focussed on continued growth and committed to creating new opportunities in the local area. We have recently doubled the size of our premises, allowing us to create at least twenty new jobs in the next year.

We are also the site of the North East’s first Microsoft Centre of Excellence, designed to attract, develop, and retain local talent to HTG’s workforce and support our in-house apprentice and graduate schemes.

We are supported by, and delighted to be, members of the South Tyneside Pledge – proud to stay true to our roots and remain based in Hebburn and focussed on helping South Tyneside thrive.

What have the past 2 years taught you?

Businesses have had a lot of change and challenges thrown at them over the past couple of years as they have coped with switching to permanent hybrid working as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Coupled with increases in raw materials and energy prices while also seeing a tight labour market forcing wages ever higher has meant they are being forced to automate, outsource, and offer remote working.

We have been able to assist. As trusted advisors, we can help clients along a digital transformation journey that will deliver better customer service, drive innovation, and support staff and stakeholders in the long term.

Cybersecurity continues to be one of the top three business risks we identify, as cyber-attacks increase in their sophistication and frequency. No organisation is immune from the threat, and so we have reimagined the idea of Managed IT Services, shifting it from a ‘reactive fix’ solution to a pro-active solution constantly monitoring systems, applications, and endpoints and pro-actively reconfiguring to prevent attacks.

What are your business objectives for the next 12 months?

To continue to be loved by our clients, valued by our partners, and admired by our competitors.

To keep to our growth strategy with an increasingly skilled team that delivers the absolute best.

We are developing and improving policies with the aim of encouraging more women into tech careers.

We will continue to expand our team, not forgetting our responsibilities to the community we live, work, and operate in.

What are your hopes for the future of the North East’s tech and digital industry?

We are confident that the North East’s tech and digital industry has immense capability to grow with a talented mix of thought-leaders developing strategies to bring innovative, exciting, and rewarding opportunities.

We plan to work closely with Microsoft as pioneers of the first Centre of Excellence in the North East alongside increasing the openings in our popular graduate and apprenticeship schemes.

Why did you join Dynamo?

We recognise the vitally important role that networking has both for us as a business but also for the IT community here in the North East. By working together, we have a louder and more respected voice where everyone benefits. Dynamo facilitates that for all its members. We are incredibly excited about being a member and we are very much looking forward to attending the Dynamo events in the future.
