A brief overview of SR1 Development

We are a leading Office 365 and SharePoint consultancy dedicated to helping businesses and organisations to transform digitally, with the help of Microsoft products. This has been our goal for over fifteen years now, during which time we’ve worked closely with a wide range of organisations both throughout the UK and beyond.

 

What are the benefits of basing your business in the North East?

The North East is a vibrant tech community, with an exceptional talent pool of students through the local universities, and apprenticeship programs.

There is also a wide range of businesses looking to leverage technology through the products and services we provide. Over the years we have built up excellent relationships with these businesses, by not only providing technical solutions, but by fully understanding and appreciating their business needs.

Of course, the North East is renowned for its friendliness, and this is the case in terms of business also. Through focus groups, and sector seminars, we have been involved in several groups where people are always keen to share experiences and support one another.

 

What has the past 12 months taught you?

Working in tech has always required you to be adaptable. However, the last 12 months or so have really emphasised that with the constant changes due to COVID-19.

Whether that be internally, by supporting staff to ensure they can work from home in a safe and comfortable way, or by working with new clients who have really had to adapt their tech offerings to allow them to continue to work with minimal disruption.

 

What are your post COVID business objectives?

We are very lucky to have undergone significant growth in the last 12 months, in terms of revenue, team size, and client base.

We plan to continue that but in a controlled manner, as we don’t want to lose sight of our key attribute, or being able to work closely with clients, and really provide that personal service.

We have been very lucky that many of our clients are long term ones, who have been coming back to us for many years. We feel this is due to our ability to deliver excellent business solutions, but also by having excellent working relationships, based on trust, honesty, and respect. This will continue to be key as we expand in the coming years.

We also want to continue to invest in our staff, as well as training new talent through apprenticeship and degree programs.

We really see work life balance as key, so will continue with flexible working policies, generous holiday allowances, excellent career progression based on talent rather than years in a role, and training in new technology.

 

What are your hopes for the future of the North East’s tech industry?

I really hope there is continued investment in the tech industry, as well as wider industry throughout the North East.

Whilst hybrid and remote working are definitely the future now, I would recommend any company looking to set up a base consider the North East, and all of the benefits if has to offer.

 

Why did you join Dynamo?

As mentioned earlier, there is a real desire for tech companies to help one another in the North East. Dynamo is an excellent coordinator of this, by helping to bring us all together, and act as a voice for the sector
