Digital Cluster Development Programme

The Digital Cluster Development Programme is a fully funded support programme by North of Tyne Combined Authority for businesses based in Newcastle, North Tyne and Northumberland. Our aim is to support businesses to grow through digital innovation. Delivered by a partnership between the Innovation SuperNetwork, Dynamo and the AHSN.

The word ‘innovation’ can often be difficult to make sense of in a business context and suggests something very exclusive. So, to keep things simple and make sure a business can get the support they need from us, we’d like to include another definition: If you are looking to change something for the better in your business and that ‘something’ is digital or tech related, then we are likely to be able to help you on that journey.

   

 

PROJECT AIM

The aim of the project is to support the business community in the North of Tyne Combined Authority to overcome barriers to growth by providing better access to markets, expertise, people, finance and partnerships. You could be a business looking to bring new digital products and services to the market or it could be new digital processes or systems you’re looking to introduce to your business. If so, we offer advice and support throughout this process. We will also be working on a number of special interest themes in key areas such as Digital Construction, Tech for Good, Culture and there will be a real focus on HeathTech with the Academic Health and Science Network supporting through their Innovation Pathway.

 

SUPPORT AVAILABLE

One to One Support. Delivered via our team of skilled Innovation Managers. Available to businesses looking to bring new digital products and services to market or businesses bringing in new digital processes, systems or skills to their business. We offer advice and support throughout this process. Our team can work with you on a bespoke Innovation Action Plan to make sure you are getting the most from our programme

Financial Support. We provide access to finance bootcamps, pitch training and dedicated one-to-one support from our Access to Finance Manager. Support is available to businesses as they scale up and navigate the investment landscape. We can also support businesses to access an Innovation Recovery Grant.

Event Programme. We have a number of events in planning including innovation challenge activity, peer to peer networking, business roundtables, bootcamps and masterclasses. Our events are developed from the key themes our Innovation Manager team are working on and are based on what the business community tell us has value for them.

Digital Collaboration. We aim to connect businesses to the support they need and their peers. Businesses can share good practice, showcase their organisation, and connect with like-minded businesses, academia, investors and support organisations. Helping to raise the profile of the North Tyne Combined Authority digital cluster as a whole and facilitate growth.

Innovation Challenges. Linked to the digital themes our Innovation Manager team are working on and that also focus on unmet needs of some of the key digital and tech businesses across the region.
