CyberNorth Coordinator – Flexible, part time, contract
CyberNorth is the North East’s cyber security cluster, part of Dynamo North East. It brings together 70+ cyber businesses and a host of supporting organisations to share, protect and develop this sector regionally, nationally and internationally.
As the cyber sector grows, so must our cluster and we’re currently looking for a part time Coordinator to work flexibly with us to support this growth activity. The role, working with the CyberNorth Lead, will be charged with developing, implementing and managing the cluster’s plans, including marketing and events, as well as supporting the business development and strategy of the cluster.
Suited to an all-rounder with experience in marketing & communications, events, or a project management role, the position will cover everything from social media and website content development, through to project management and office coordination.
As well as running monthly meet ups for CyberNorth members both online and in person, the successful candidate will support the cluster’s annual marquee event; #CyberFest. With around 15 events, the North East’s largest cyber security festival runs throughout September. You will work with the Dynamo North East events team in sourcing speakers, venues and marketing the events to attendees.
Additionally, you will develop a social media marketing plan, developing the cluster’s existing Twitter and LinkedIn reach with engaging content about the cluster and sector. You will also be required to support the cluster’s podcast and update the newly launched website regularly to ensure this is a valuable resource for the cyber community.
Further to this, the post holder will use their marketing experience to determine other channels and avenues to keep existing stakeholders up to date with the work of CyberNorth and engage with new members and supporters.
Working as part of a small, home based team, the post holder will have autonomy to run the various CyberNorth cluster outreach activities of the not-for-profit as they see fit, working the hours and working pattern that suit them. You will need to attend some face to face events in and around the region and so travel needs to be a consideration.
While some knowledge of cyber security is helpful, it is not necessary for the role. You will be given full training and induction on the North East cyber security landscape if successful. The budget for this work will be around £15,000 per year.
If you are committed to seeing the North East grow, please send a brief CV and a covering letter outlining why you would be the right candidate for this post to: firstname.lastname@example.org by end of 10 June 2022. Interviews will likely take place online during week commencing 13 June. If you have any questions or would like to chat about the role, please contact Phil Jackman at phil@CyberNorth.biz.
