This category is for a person, team or organisation that has developed a disruptive technology that will shake up our industry or a ground-breaking product or service that creates a completely new industry. . ENTER NOW

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION AWARD – Sponsored by Institute of Coding at Newcastle University

This award values an individual, team, organisation or network that have made an outstanding and significant contribution through taking positive action to create an equitable, diverse, and inclusive digital sector. This could be within the workplace, or within the wider community including education, public and third sectors. ENTER NOW

SKILLS DEVELOPER

We need to train, recruit and perhaps more importantly retain talent in our region’s IT sector.  We want to recognise those who are really backing the development of the North East skills’ pipeline. We hope to hear from organisations and individuals who have created innovative training, initiatives or apprenticeship programmes. If we are successfully developing skills in this region, our sector will grow. ENTER NOW

DIGITAL CLUSTER CHAMPION – Sponsored by BT

This award celebrates an individual /organisation who has provided significant support to the development of Dynamo’s digital clusters. It recognises their ongoing work to shape strategies and implement events and activities to drive growth of the region’s digital specialisms. It also celebrates close collaboration with the Dynamo ream and networks. They have been instrumental in establishing Dynamo’s clusters and in driving innovation. ENTER NOW

GROWTH EXPLOSION – (Trading for 2yrs+) 

We want to celebrate growth – adding jobs, building companies, expanding with a wider field of projects. There are a number of phases in growing a business. Dynamo is interested to see firms that have established their foundations and are scaling up. ENTER NOW

PROJECT OF THE YEAR – Sponsored by Scott Logic

Categories have focused on personalities and teams, but we are also fascinated to hear what the North East has delivered in terms of IT and tech projects. It could be an innovative solution for a big data challenge, some clever programming of an app, a new academic insight or a revamp of a public sector system. It could be a near-shore project that is operating for UK corporates, a collaborative public/private sector project, or a development for an international firm. This award is split into two categories, ENTER NOW:

INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS STORY – Sponsored by Procter & Gamble

This award will recognise the international successes of a regionally headquartered business. It may be an organisation that has expanded its presence by opening offices overseas, or that has delivered successful projects on an international scale. ENTER NOW

RISING STAR – Sponsored by University of Sunderland

This award is to recognise a high-flying student, apprentice or employee (with less than 3 years exp.) in the region’s IT sector. We need brilliant people in our industry. We want to hear all about these people coming up through the ranks. The individual will have started to make a strong impact in their role, through attitude or output – they combine the ‘day job’ with extra projects beyond work and show leadership potential ahead of their grade.  The“Ones to watch” – our future tech leaders? ENTER NOW

TECH FOR GOOD – Sponsored by Sage

This award will recognise an organisation or individual who uses digital technology to improve the lives of others and make the world a better place. This award shines a light on the projects, organisations or individuals that harness the power of technology to benefit the community. ENTER NOW

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT

Part of Dynamo’s founding principles have been to shine a light on the amazing activity across the North East in the fields of IT, computing, software, data, AI, VR, building, digital, web, mobile… We are constantly amazed by discovering initiatives that are using local talent and making international waves. This award could recognise an influential local entrepreneur, a mentor, a regional organisation with an impressive track record, or an innovation which has influenced the growth of our industry from a North East home. ENTER NOW
