Northumbria Graduate Futures has launched an exciting new stream of funding activity as its existing Graduate Internship funding scheme enjoys continued success. This new funding is focused on Summer Internships and is provided by the Northumbria Enterprise Business Support scheme (NEBS2) and is aimed at trading SMEs in Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.
The NEBS scheme continues to support the growth of small to medium sized businesses by providing a grant to recruit an undergraduate Northumbria student for a Summer Internship of between 8-13 weeks between June – September 2022. Eligible SMEs can apply for a grant of up to £2,025 towards the salary of a summer intern on a full time, paid internship. This is offered on a minimum annual salary of £18,000 per annum with funding provided pro-rata.
The Summer Internship is an excellent opportunity for an SME to capitalise on the skills of a Northumbria student, one who can apply theoretical learning to fulfil a skills gap or undertake a specific project. A Summer Internship is also a low-risk opportunity to experience the benefits of recruiting a student and perhaps identify a candidate for a future, long-term employment opportunity.
For further information on how your organisation can benefit from the NEBS scheme, please contact internships@northumbria.ac.uk.
