Recruitment company Nigel Wright Group has marked its 30th anniversary with a record year.
The Newcastle-headquartered firm generated a gross profit of more than £13m in the 12 months to April 30 2018 – the highest since the business was founded in 1988.
The figure is up from the £12m gross profit reported for the 2015/16 year, and almost 20% up on last year’s profit.
Nigel Wright Group attributed the uptick to “significant investment” in training and developing its staff base “at all levels”.
The company employs 126 people across 13 sites in Europe, including offices in London, Paris, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
Mark Simpson, Nigel Wright’s group executive director for the UK, said: “Gross profit is up by nearly 20%. I am extremely pleased with our performance, particularly given the big UK recruiters posted results which have seen them all either shrink or stand still in the UK over the same period.”
He continued: “However, it is essential we guard against complacency and continue to improve our service offering, competing on value rather than price. We are now actively recruiting to secure further growth in the years ahead.”
Nigel Wright Group CEO Paul Wilson commented: “Our regional business performed superbly last year and its leadership team is in great shape to help the company continue on its trajectory.
“Building on our 30-year foundation, the wider business has seen us reinforce long standing relationships with global consumer brands across Europe while establishing new clients across the continent.”
