Skills Bootcamp in Digital

Skills Bootcamp in Digital is a new set of digital training courses designed to help you to build sector specific skills and fast track to a guaranteed interview with a local digital employer at the end of the course.

The bootcamp will be delivered by a collective made up of Baltic Training, Education Partnership North East, Gateshead College, Newcastle College Group, New College Durham, Tyne Coast College and Sunderland Software City.

Interviews are being offered by a range of digital employers including Virgin Money, Mitsubishi Chemicals, Opencast Software, Accenture and Hedgehog Lab.

Who are they for?

The courses are offered at intermediate and advanced level, so you will need to have a good level of digital skills already. See each course description for more information.

How much do they cost?

The training is free if you meet the following criteria:

  • Aged over 19 years of age
  • Working, recently unemployed within the last 12 months or looking for work e.g. coming back into the workforce after a career break
  • Resident in the UK and legally entitled to work in the UK

How long do they last?

Courses are delivered on a full and part time basis which means a course could last between two and 8 weeks. Face to face and virtual learning is available. We’ll let you know more when you enquire.

Are you self employed or an employer? 

If you’re self employed you can access this training for free, subject to meeting the entry criteria.

If you’re an employer, you can also access this training for a discounted price. You’ll pay just 30% of the total cost which is around £550 to £750 per person, depending on the course you choose.

What happens after the course?

Sunderland Software City are working with their digital industry contacts to secure interviews for you once you have successfully completed a course.
